Chairman Fiona, along with Deputies Pauline and Eve are off to New York on Friday 22nd February.
Another shopping trip you might ask? Absolutely not (although we might just have to pop into Macys....) but as delegates to the 52nd Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women. We are attending under the umbrella of the National Association of Womens Organisations here in the UK, and will be part of the vast numbers of delegates falling into the NGO bracket.
The main theme is Financing for Gender equality and the Empowerment of women, with a second theme of Women in conflict resolution and peacemaking roles.
We are delighted to be able to attend one week of the two week Commission and (apart from the wild and frantic packing going on here...) will post daily blogs here on the site so that you all know what we are hearing, debating, discussing and learning.
The Conservative Women's Organisation (CWO) is the Conservative Party's national network for women. We help the Conservative Party win elections at every level, promoting women in becoming candidates and helping regain the women's vote. Writer's opinion are their own and not necessarily the CWO's.

This is the first time that the CWO have taken part in this meeting. We are much looking forward to it. A lot of the meetings that we will be going to will tie in with much of the work that we have done in the last couple of years and I think that we will learn much during the week and make many new links. Because we have so many people now in this country from across the world, what happens in other parts is important and we need to be aware of the issues for women across the world.
